Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives adults who work with youth skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12 - 18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
Continued Education Certificates will be offered to participants who attend this training.

Jennifer Pullen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In her professional role she serves as the Clinical Manager for UnityPoint Health Berryhill Center in Fort Dodge, IA. Jennifer oversees all aspects of the outpatient therapy/substance use disorder programming. In addition to this role, Jennifer serves as a trainer for both adult and youth mental health first aid. Jennifer is married with 3 children (Brighton 16, Brooklyn 9 & Jayden 7). Much of her free time is spent in the van at practice or watching games, recitals and concerts. Jennifer’s true passions are to support those with mental illness in whatever capacity they need, while helping to reduce stigma related to mental health treatment.
